A mercantilização do ensino superior e a relação com o saber: A qualidade em questão

Resumo
Este artigo aborda a mercantilização e a comoditização do ensino superior de bem público para bem privado assim como as implicações para as percepções da qualidade do ensino superior em Moçambique. O artigo examina a relação com o saber num contexto marcado pela expansão, privatização e comercialização do ensino superior. O argumento defendido é de que, se por um lado, a liberalização da oferta do ensino superior e a introdução de cursos orientados para as necessidades do mercado oferecidos, em particular, em regime pós-laboral, contribuem para alargar as possibilidades de acesso ao ensino superior, por outro, deslocam a relação com o saber para um lugar obscuro, senão mesmo subalterno. A concorrência das instituições públicas e privadas por estudantes e a procura de credenciais académicas por parte destes resvalou a importância da busca pelo conhecimento para um segundo plano. O estudo conclui que estes desenvolvimentos poderão estar por detrás do surgimento da questão da qualidade de ensino como um problema premente.
