FACTORES DA PERCEPÇÃO DO RISCO DE MOÇAMBIQUE COMO DESTINO TURÍSTICO
Resumo
O risco associado ao turismo é frequentemente discutido como a probabilidade de uma situação negativa ocorrer ao longo do processo de viagem em resultado de crises e ou desastres naturais. Tendo em conta a relevância da influência da percepção do risco nas escolhas dos turistas e consequentemente na dinâmica de um destino turístico, um número considerável de literatura sobre gestão do risco em turismo tem surgido nos últimos tempos. No entanto, poucos fazem referência a destinos africanos que, em geral, sofrem de imagens estereotipadas que conferem percepções globais negativas. Este estudo visa identificar os factores da percepção de risco que os turistas internacionais têm de Moçambique como destino turístico. Com base na revisão de literatura, 29 atributos ou situações de risco associado ao turismo foram seleccionados e avaliados numa escala de Likert de sete pontos que através de um inquérito por questionário aplicado online obteve-se 382 respostas válidas. Realizou-se a Análise de Componentes Principais do conjunto de variáveis da escala de atributos de avaliação do risco percebido identificando-se seis factores de percepção de risco que explicam cerca de 66% da variação dos atributos do risco percebido. Dentre os quais destacam-se o “Acesso a infra-estruturas gerais e de turismo com padrões de qualidade”, “Desempenho de serviços de transporte” e “Reputação do destino”. O estudo faz referência dos principais desafios a considerar no desenho de estratégias que estimulam a competitividade do destino.
