SPORT AS A MEANS OF EDUCATION OF BODIES
Abstract
Having as a guiding presupposition the postulate of the anthropology of cultural diversity, this article has the value of reiterating the idea of education as a complex process, present in the various human manifestations. This time, from the analysis of sporting events, a set of elements that show that the practice of sport implies a whole process of socialization, education of the bodies. The conception of this article, which is an exploratory one, was based on the bibliographical review of two types of literature. A first literature that proposes to analyze the practice of sport. And a second one, of an anthropological character, that challenges itself to problematize the body as object of socialization. The contact with this literature allowed to establish a relation between the sport and the processes of education of the bodies. In establishing this relationship, it was found that, due to its procedural nature, education occurs in all human groups, in all social relations. Thus, the practice of sport is a social relation that implies a certain posture, technique, meanings and social representations related to the bodies of individuals who practice the most diverse sports manifestations. As one can understand, sport is a cultural context that thinks and socializes the bodies in order to attend to the logics of the sport.
