Abstract

The study of exercise, physical activity and health of elderly in Mozambique it are in the beginning way and there aimed  to understand the body composition (BC), level of physical activity (LPA), functional fitness (FFIT) and quality of life (QL). The present study aims to systematize the results of the studies done on those fields in Mozambique. Were collected results published studies done between 2003 to 2015 with research groups of physical activity and health (NIAFS). The main results indicate the high prevalence of overweight, obesity and osteoporosis, beyond the high LPA and FFTI level. However, of these results, apparently, it has been influenced by residence area. On the other side the QL proved favorable to exercise intervention program then their peer who not participate. General must - is to be very careful when interpreting these results, mainly because they are restricted to their universe of the sample used which increases the importance for the continuation of studies in this research area.
